After the kick-off in May in Traunreut, the second part of our cooperation with Hubert Burda Media in Munich now follows. Hubert Burda and Heiner Friedrich were connected through the Munich art scene of the sixties and were interested in similar artists, such as Andy Warhol or Uwe Lausen, who is the focus of this cooperation with his wife and fellow artist Heide Stolz.
The artist couple worked closely together and clearly influenced each other in their choice of motifs and themes, which are characterized by provocation, violence and staged reality. Resistance to the social and cultural establishment united Lausen and Stolz with the politically active movement of 1968 and makes their work seem alive and relevant even today, sixty years after it was created.
At Wednesday, July 3 the second part of the collaboration is now taking place on the premises of Hubert Burda Media in Munich. On display are prints by Uwe Lausen from the Hubert Burda Media collection and large-format staged photographs from the DASMAXIMUM museum collection, which were created as a joint work by Lausen and Stolz.
The exhibition opening will be accompanied by a lecture by Munich art historian Dr. Selima Niggl, curator of the artist couple's first joint exhibition, which was shown at the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart in 2020-2021, among others, and author of the first major monograph on Uwe Lausen.

The exhibition can be seen until the beginning of September. At the same time, a temporary presentation of photographs by Heide Stolz and a permanent exhibition of around 40 works by Uwe Lausen can be seen at the DASMAXIMUM museum in Traunreut.
