200 guests celebrated the start of the new museum season on February 2, 2024.

With "Flavin by Night", DASMAXIMUM has been offering the unique opportunity to see the light installation "European Couples" by American artist Dan Flavin (1933-1996) outside regular opening hours, from dusk until complete darkness, since 2023.

This year's special opening was also accompanied by an extensive program: during the art encounter with Dan Flavin, the participating children explored Dan Flavin's color space down to the smallest detail and observed the course of twilight by the intensity of the colors in the room.

Two short lectures offered guests the opportunity to gain an overview of Dan Flavin and his work.

The highlight was a panel discussion between Dr. Maria Schindelegger (Museum Director DASMAXIMUM), Ksenija Protic, a friend of the artist who died in 1996, and Michael Jarnach (FischerBauKunst Polling) about Dan Flavin's time and work in Munich and Bavaria.

A premiere could also be heard in the museum's ticket hall: the language collage "Ich bin richtig und wichtig!" ("I am right and important!") created by an 8th grade class from Trostberg High School was remixed by none other than DJ Hell and could be heard for the first time at "Flavin by night".

The food truck from the Landgasthof Hittenkirchen once again provided refreshments.
