Ever since DASMAXIMUM began the "Oak Plantings in Honour of Joseph Beuys" around 2015, Dr. Corinna Thierolf, at that time still head of the "Art since 1945" department at the Bayerische Staatsgemäldesammlungen, was interested in a planting in the vicinity of the Pinakothek museums and with direct reference to Joseph Beuys' work "The End of the 20th Century", which is in the permanent collection of the Pinakothek der Moderne.

On the occasion of Corinna Thierolf's departure from Munich, her wish was granted by the "International Patrons of the Pinakothek e.V." and the "PIN. Freunde der Pinakothek der Moderne e.V." listened to her wish: Duke Franz of Bavaria personally took over the first sponsorship for a planting on Reichenbachplatz. Even though the pandemic requirements limited the participants to the very narrowest circle, it was still possible to plant on 12 May, the 100th birthday of Joseph Beuys.

BR2 came in a Live circuit in the "Gespräch am Mittag - Verstehen Sie Beuys?" ("Talk at Noon - Do You Understand Beuys?"), and RFO with Roland Schoppersberger also spared neither drive nor pouring rain to document the planting and to ask the head of the House of Wittelsbach about his encounter with Beuys (Contribution in the media library).
