After the new museum season was atmospherically ushered in last week with a record number of visitors at "Flavin at Night", DASMAXIMUM will now reopen its doors for regular museum operations next weekend, February 4 and 5. Saturday and Sunday from 11-16 clock can be visited the over 4300m2 exhibition space again. As every year, the reduced admission of 2 euros instead of 8/5 euros applies on the opening weekend. Children and teenagers are free.

Preview of the museum year 2023

Not only Georg Baselitz' sculpture "Winter Sleep" will awaken from its winter break next weekend. A year with numerous anniversaries and events awaits DASMAXIMUM and its visitors. To mark its 10th anniversary, the Friends and Sponsors of the Museum not only organized "Flavin by Night," but will also present itself and its projects at a roundtable discussion in Munich in mid-March. DASMAXIMUM celebrates the 85th birthday of museum founder Heiner Friedrich with a special program on the weekend of April 15 and 16. The mediation format Wort:Bilder also enters its tenth year. It combines poetry and art and is aimed primarily at visitor groups with a wide range of social or physical disabilities. In addition to the annual project week in July, this year there will also be a roundtable discussion with the stage poets and workshop leaders, who will talk about the background of the project. A tour with a best-of of the poems from 10 years, which will also be published in a small booklet, will round off the program. Last but not least, the monthly ArtMeetings for children will take place again. The first one on Saturday, February 18, at 2 p.m. on the artist Georg Baselitz, who also celebrated his 85th birthday at the end of January. An overview of the other art encounters for children and all other dates can be found in the newly set up Calendar of events.
