The end of July marks the tenth anniversary of the death of American artist Walter De Maria. De Maria was not only a pioneer of conceptual art and land art, but as a trained percussionist he was also concerned with expanding the understanding of music. To mark the occasion, on Saturday, July 29 at DASMAXIMUM Walter De Maria's 20-minute piece "Ocean Music". will be heard in the space of the "Equal Aerea Series". In it, De Maria lets the sound of the Pacific Ocean slowly fade into his own drum improvisation.
The event takes place in Cooperation with the Pinakothek der Moderne will take place from July 25 to 30, presenting "Ocean Music" in the historic Türkentor in the Kunstareal in Munich - where Walter De Maria's "Large Red Sphere" is located - as a temporary music intervention.
